If you’ve ever wondered what you would look like after getting a face lift or any other facial plastic surgery procedure, then wonder no more. “Lift Magic” offers a free virtual makeover tool that anyone can use. All you need is a close up picture of yourself and you can choose which procedures you would like to see.

While it will never replace a consultation from a board certified plastic surgeon, it will give you a general idea of what you might look like after the procedure. Even if you’re not interested in seeing yourself with plastic surgery, you could also upload pictures of your friends, or celebrities. Just use google image search.

Options include lip augmentation, cheek lift, dermal filler injections, chin augmentation and ‘tear through enhancement’, which works on the area between the inner corner of the eye and the nose. After you choose your procedures click on the ‘Show Me’ button and see what your new you would look like.

Modiface is the name of the Canada based company that runs the website.

“The main benefit of the Lift Magic site is that it allows you to see a retouched version of your photo in literally seconds… It’s easy, fun, and virtually effortless,” Telegraph quoted Andrew Collins, spokesman for Modiface, as saying.

I’ve already uploaded my picture and while I won’t share my results, I’ll let you know that I do look better after having all of the procedures done. Have fun! liftmagic.com

Face lift in a pink jar

Posted by admin @ 5:06 pm

As we get older our faces sag and lose that youthful firmness that we used to have. Tissues break down and our face loses the fullness it once had.

A face-lift or thread-lift could be  the surgical answer – or Gatineau’s Defi Lift 3D Perfect Design with Volulift, a pink cream that is being called the “Face Lift in a Jar”, could provide a non-surgical solution to your aging woes.

It volumizes the facial hollows in aging cheeks, chin and temples while also firming facial contours.

According to the company, it has a three-pronged action:

  • Volulift – For volume correction
  • Densilift and Orgalift – Protein-enhanced firming
  • Peptilift – Lifting action

This rose-pink cream can be worn day and night for that new you look.

It may not provide the same results as a face-lift or injectable fillers like Juvederm, but it is a no-knife alternative.

Face Transplants are Real

Posted by admin @ 12:13 pm

The first thing you think of when you hear face transplant, is Face Off. But for a few people who have been disfigured by tumors and bear attacks, it’s reality. One chinese man who was disfigured by a bear attack in 2004 received a face transplant and within a year was working full time. He says he feels fully integrated back into society. After one year, the patient was able to feel his face and move it.

“Facial transplantation could be successful in the short term, but the procedure is not without complications… This case suggests facial transplantation might be an option for restoring a severely disfigured face and could enable patients to readily integrate themselves back into society,” said Shuzhong Guo, of the Institute of Plastic Surgery, Xijing Hospital and Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an, Forbes reported.

Madonna Gets a Face Lift

Posted by admin @ 1:03 pm

Did Madonna get a face lift?

A source close to Madonna’s plastic surgeon has said she got a mid face lift this past spring.

Although it could also be that her cheeks look more prominent (as mid face lifts are designed to do) because of losing weight from stress.

Mid face lifts are used by plastic and cosmetic surgeons to make the cheeks more prominent and tighten the skin around the face.

It is also possible that she received facial fillers instead of a facelift, using a product such as Juvéderm.

What is a face lift?

A face lift, which technically is called a “rhytidectomy“, is a procedure which is commonly used to remove wrinkles and give a more youthful appearance. During the procedure, excess facial skin is removed and then the remaining skin is redraped on the patient’s face and neck. The procedure is performed “under general anesthesia or deep twilight sleep” according to the Wikipedia article.

How much does face lift cost?

As with any surgical procedure, cost will vary from doctor to doctor and from region to region. In the United States a face lift procedure on average costs $4,000 – $6,000. This price will obviously increase as other procedures are commonly performed during the facelift, such as eye lid surgery (“blepharoplasty“).
